Soumya Reddy profile: Sowmya Reddy is present MLA from Bengaluru, Jayanagar constituency. She is daughter of Karnataka minister Ramalinga Reddy. She is now contesting from Bengaluru South area against BJP’s Tejasvi Surya. Sowmya Reddy for the first time contesting for Lok Sabha Election. She is also  youth leader like Tejasvi Surya. 41 year old Sowmya Reddy studied in Newyork Institute of Technology, R.V. Collage of Engineering. She is a two time MLA from Jayanagar constituency.
 
Political Career: In 2003 for the first time Sowmya Reddy contested from Jayanagar and won. Again in 2023 she contested from Jayanagar and narrowly won. She is the the current General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress of Karnataka. She is also enviromentalist who has campaigned against the use of plastic as well as promoted the planting of trees to increase greenery in Bengaluru.
