The current Member of Parliament for Kannur, is running as a Congress candidate in the same Loksabha constituency once more. In addition, he is the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee's (KPCC) president.
On June 7, 1948, Kumbakudi Sudhakaran was born in the Kannur district's little village of Nadal. His parents are Smt. K. Madhavi and Shri V. Ramunni. He graduated from Government Brennen College, Thalassery, with a B.A. in history in addition to his M.A. and LL.B. In addition, he served four terms as a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, serving as the Kannur constituency's representative from 1996 to 2009.
He was also the former Cabinet Minister in the Government of Kerala. He was arrested by the Kerala Police as part of the investigation in a cheating case and was released as per the interim bail order of the Kerala High Court in June 2023.
