Mrinal Profile: Mrinal Hebbalkar son of Karnataka minister Laxmi Hebbalkar contesting from Belagavi constituency as Congress candidate against BJP’s veteran leader Jagadeesh Shettar. He is a young leader who can attract Dalit community also. He is basically from Lingayat community. He is married to Hita daughter of MLA Sangamesh’s brother.
 
Mrinal Political career: Mrinal Hebbalkar was helping his mother Laxmi Hebbalkar this time, worked as normal party worker. But for the first time he got ticket to contest in election. He is the new face of Karnataka Congress party. Like his mother he has the influence in local people. So Congress feels he is the best candidate to attract young generation of Belagavi. Recently his name came under tiger claw locket case. Later his mother Laxmi Hebbalkar clarified it was a plastic pendent. Other than that he was not came to lime light in political career.
