He is married to Tejaswini and have two children. He is BBM graduate. Raghavendra hails from Lingayat community.
Political career: In 15th Lok Sabha election BY Raghavendra defeated ex CM Bangarappa by huge margin of 52,893 votes. He was a member of 16th Lok Sabha representing Shimogga district and 14th Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He previously represented Shikaripura assembly constituency. From beginning to till now he is member of BJP. Also he is managing trustee of PES institution of Shimogga. He is now contesting against Congress candidate Geetha Shiva Rajkumar and also BJP rebel contestant KS Eshwarappa. Shimogga is one of the strong hold constituency of BJP. So he is hoping to win again in Shimogga Constituency.
